Geneva man dumps 'The Bachelorette'
He was torn between two lovers, feelin' like a fool.
So Geneva's Frank Neuschaefer dumped "The Bachelorette" Ali Fedotowsky on national television Monday night, freeing him up to reunite with his ex-girlfriend, Nicole Caruso.
In typical Bachelor/Bachelorette style, the breakup was preceded by much discussion about everyone's feelings and connections, as well as counseling from host Chris Harrison.
Neuschaefer, 31, a retail store manager and aspiring screenwriter who grew up in Bartlett, said he was falling love with Fedotowsky, 25, and could see himself marrying her.
On last week's show, he took her home to Geneva to meet his family and everyone loved her.
He made the cut to the final three bachelors and was scheduled to spend a romantic night with Ali in Tahiti this week.
But during his visit home, he needed "to find out what was holding him back" with Ali and decided to pop in and see his ex. With cameras, of course.
Frank said he hadn't talked to his ex in months, but as soon as he saw her, realized she was the one he wanted to spend his life with.
So now he just had to fly to Tahiti and share the bad news with Ali.
There were tears all around, claims of disbelief, and long periods of silence. At one point, Ali cussed and threw her flip flops.
Later, she put Frank's framed picture face down on a table, knowing that while he was headed back to Geneva, she was in Tahiti with two other gorgeous men.
And one of them, she's sure, could be her future husband.
