Harry Caray's puts out reward for game-winning Blackhawks puck
They want the puck.
Grant DePorter, CEO of Harry Caray's Restaurant Group, announced over the weekend the restaurant chain has put out a $50,000 reward to purchase the puck Patrick Kane slapped into the corner of the net that gave the Chicago Blackhawks the 2010 Stanley Cup Champion title.
He said if Harry Caray's ends up with the puck, it would go on display at the Chicago Sports Museum at Harry Caray's Tavern, Navy Pier, after the puck is authenticated to be the actual puck that was shot into the net by Kane.
He said the puck is currently missing. The last time it was seen was in the goal on the ice in Philadelphia.
He added the puck that brought the Hawks their first Stanley Cup victory since 1961 would be "quite a treasure," and would sit on display with other famous sports memorabilia in the museum. Included in those relics are the infamous "Bartman Ball," that was destroyed after being bought at auction for $113,824.16 in 2004. It would also sit next to Orlando Palmeiro's game used bat that made the last out in the 2005 White Sox World Series championship.
