Will the economic stimulus benefit me?

Well, just about everyone knows someone experiencing gloom and doom; it's all around us. What makes the situation even worse is there really isn't any work out there.

My husband has worked one day this year for a road construction company in the area. Well, now he hasn't been called back along with 50 other drivers. We had to cancel our Cobra health insurance today, before it even kicked in, next will be our home.

There isn't even another construction job or any job to be had out there. My question is, what happened to all the stimulus money for road construction? Where are all these jobs? What happened? When will it get better? What do you do? What will happen with the people getting off unemployment from last year and still no work?

The University of Illinois receives nearly $1 million in federal stimulus money for a center to train people to improve energy efficiency of low-income residents' homes. Where are our priorities? Is it really necessary for this now? People are hurting in a very bad way right now.
