Over 160 artists to sell wares at Buffalo Grove Fine Arts Fest
When the ninth Buffalo Grove Invitational Fine Art Festival kicks off Saturday, July 17, more than 160 artists from around the world will be open for business.
The show, currently rated among the top 50 fine arts fests in the nation, is mostly about the art, but there is also plenty of food from local restaurants, live music and activities for kids.
In addition to the artwork offered by professional, juried artists, the festival also hosts a Youth Art Division, which showcases the work of local artists ages 18 and younger. "Unique Expressions: A Showcase of Local Artists with Special Needs" will also be highlighted at this year's festival.
Located on the main drive of the Buffalo Grove Town Center, this festival, produced in cooperation with the Village of Buffalo Grove, offers art of all mediums, with a large selection of Judaica available.
Children can visit the Kids Art Tent to create an edible necklace or paint a birdhouse. Balloon artist Jason Giolli will offer tips making balloon creations, and kids will also have the opportunity to paint an "Art Wall."
The Buffalo Grove Limelight Café Youth, Buffalo Grove Jazz Band and acoustic rock duo Cirrus Falcon will perform throughout the weekend.
