Carpentersvillebull; Abby Farina, 18, of the 3000 block of Shenandoah Lane, was charged with several drug offenses Wednesday, stemming from an evening traffic stop, according to a police report. She had 12 bags of heroin totaling 4.4 grams, less than 15 grams of a substance containing buprenorphine, a straw used to inhale heroin and a small amount of marijuana. Police said Farina intended to sell the heroin for $100. She was subsequently charged with possession with intent to deliver heroin, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana. Her bail was set at $30,000 and she is scheduled to appear in court Thursday at the Kane County Judicial Center.Elginbull; Patricia Cortez, 41, of the 1600 block of Mulberry Court, Elgin, was arrested during a Wednesday traffic stop in which police discovered she had less than 15 grams of cocaine, as well as drug paraphernalia. Cortez was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance, driving on a revoked license - a felony - and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a police report. Her bail was set at $15,000 and she is due in court Tuesday at the Kane County Judicial Center.bull; Someone stole Armani sunglasses and miscellaneous from a 2003 Land Rover in the 600 block of Waterfall Lane between 7 p.m. Tuesday and 6 a.m. Wednesday, reports said.bull; Someone stole a GPS unit from a 1999 Dodge Carryall in the 400 block of Division Street between 9:30 p.m. Tuesday and 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, reports said. Peoples, 51, of the 3100 block of Bennett Place, Aurora, was arrested and charged with criminal trespass at 2:45 p.m. Tuesday at the Grand Victoria Casino, 250 S. Grove Ave., reports said. Skelton, 45, of the 800 block of East Lincoln Highway, DeKalb, was arrested Wednesday and charged with drug paraphernalia possession on the 6N600 block of Illinois Street, near St. Charles, police said. Skelton also was wanted on warrants for disorderly conduct, assault and drug charges, according to a police report. bull; A small engine plane went into a cornfield about 3 p.m. June 27 near Olson Airport, 9N803 Route 47, Plato Township, police said. The pilot told police he couldn't get the plane off the ground during takeoff and drove into the cornfield. No injuries or damage was reported. bull; A Kent bicycle valued at $100 was reported stolen Tuesday on the 34W700 block of Clyde Parkway, near St. Charles, police said. bull; A Sony three-disc stereo and three music CDs in it were stolen out of a gazebo in a yard in the 41W000 block of Russell Road, Plato Township, between midnight and 2 a.m. Saturday, police said. The owner had placed a towel over the stereo, and discovered that the thief had replaced the stereo with cans.bull; A woman reported a yellow-gold 2-carat ring, a yellow-gold-and-diamond ring, a gold necklace and $400 were stolen out of a safe in her apartment above a garage on her ex-husband's property in the 6N800 block of Elgin Avenue, St. Charles Township, while she was gone between midnight July 8 and 11:02 a.m. Monday. She told sheriff's deputies she suspects one of her children, who also live on the property.bull; A bomb threat was phoned in to an assisted living apartment shortly before 2 p.m. Sunday on the 300 block of South Lincolnway Street, near North Aurora, police said. The victim told police the caller sounded like a young man; he called back twice, singing and laughing, after making the initial threat. According to a police report, a bomb-detecting dog didn't find any evidence of explosives. South Elginbull; Someone stole a camera and an iPod nano, a total value $214, from an unlocked car in the 200 block of Nicole Drive between 12:01 a.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday, reports said.
