Arlington Heightsbull; Phylicia D. Armstrong, 23, of the 10400 block of South Wabash, Chicago, was arrested around 1:25 p.m. July 8 at Jewel-Osco, 1860 S. Arlington Heights Road, and charged with a traffic violation and two counts of retail theft. Reports said a security agent for Jewel saw her hide a bottle of vodka valued at $30 in her purse. He confronted her and grabbed her purse. She tried to drive away but an officer stopped her car in the parking lot. Reports also said she stole merchandise valued at $50 from Walgreens, 1000 E. Northwest Hwy., between 1 and 1:20 p.m. The officer found the items in her car. Her court date is Aug. 9.bull;A male resident on the 1200 block of West Hintz Road saw a teenage boy loading bottles of alcohol from the victim's refrigerator in his open attached garage into a Buffalo Grove High School duffel bag around 7:30 p.m. July 11. The man chased the boy, who dropped the bag and fled north on Kennicott. bull; Burglars broke the rear door lock at a home on the 500 block of Ashford Lane between 3:30 p.m. July 10 and 1:30 a.m. July 11, ransacked the living room and stole $240 out of a bedroom.bull; Burglars stole a video game system valued at $300 out of an apartment on the 0-100 block of East Northwest Highway between noon July 4 and 6:30 p.m. July 6. The offenders entered the apartment by climbing an outside staircase to the roof, stepping over a short wall, removing a bedroom window screen and window air conditioner, and climbing through the open window. Someone burglarized the same apartment a year ago.bull; Burglars broke into a 2006 Hyundai Tiburon on the second level of the village parking garage at 22 S. Vail Ave. between 12:45 a.m. and 2 p.m. July 9 and stole the in-dash radio valued at $1,000. During the same time and in the same garage, burglars broke into a 2005 Nissan Altima and stole the aftermarket in-dash stereo valued at $500.bull; Burglars broke into a 2006 Ford 500 sedan in a hotel lot at 2111 S. Arlington Heights Road between 9 p.m. July 8 and 8:30 a.m. July 9 and stole a briefcase valued at $100.bull; Burglars stole a computer laptop and bag, a document scanner, and a bag containing six chef jackets and two aprons out of a 2004 Toyota Tundra pickup truck in a hotel lot at 2120 S. Arlington Heights Road between June 26 and July 6. Value was estimated at $1,950.bull; Burglars broke into a 1990 Honda Civic in a repair shop lot at 797 W. Algonquin Road between 8 p.m. July 9 and 7:30 a.m. July 10 and stole the in-dash CD stereo valued at $50.bull; Burglars stole two TVs and a DVD player out of an unlocked Toyota minivan in a driveway on the 1500 block of West Concorde Drive between 7 p.m. July 10 and 12:30 p.m. July 11. Value was estimated at $200.bull; Burglars stole a gray trick bike, with stem caps that look like silver bullets, out of a garage on the 800 block of Kingsley Drive between July 1 and 11. Value was estimated at $290.bull; Vandals hurled rocks that smashed one window July 6 and a second window overnight July 8-9 on the south end of Dryden School, 722 S. Dryden. Damage was estimated at $1,200. bull; A woman sleeping on her living room couch was awakened around 1:30 a.m. July 12 when her dog began barking. She saw a man standing in her living room. He had entered the home through the unlocked patio door and left the same way. The woman was not harmed.Barringtonbull; Vandals hurled rocks that smashed five windows and scuffed a sixth on the south side of the shelter at the Metra depot, 601 Spring St., July 10 or 11. bull; Burglars stole a cardboard box containing 11 electronic assembly PC boards for security cameras out of a 2004 Hyundai Sonata in a store lot at 150 W. Main St. between 4:30 and 5 p.m. June 18. Value was estimated at $2,000.Wheelingbull; Thieves stole a blue 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck on the 800 block of Seton Court between 6 p.m. July 4 and 11:47 a.m. July 5. The truck had a white stripe down each side and a yellow towing light bar on the roof with the words "Indy Pace Car" on each side. Value was estimated at $5,000.bull; Thieves stole a cell phone valued at $350 on the 600 block of Bayside Court around 10 a.m. July 6. The male victim is a computer repairman. He walked out to his car and used his cell phone and then returned to his work inside a customer's house. The phone was missing when he searched for it a few minutes later.bull; Vandals broke four 4-inch by 6-inch wooden planks on playground equipment at Booth Tarkington School, 310 Scott St., between July 2 and 6. Damage was estimated at $100.bull; Thieves stole an unlocked blue and yellow mountain bike outside Indian Trails Public Library, 355 Schoenbeck Road, between 3 and 9 p.m. July 7. Value was estimated at $50.bull; Burglars broke into a 1998 Chevrolet Cavalier on the 300 block of Inland Drive between 1:30 and 5:44 a.m. July 8 and stole a CD player, two subwoofer speakers with box, and a stereo equalizer. Loss was estimated at $600.bull; Thieves stole a catalytic converter from a 2006 Chevrolet van belonging to Accurate Industries and parked in the firm's lot at 441 Carpenter Ave. between July 1 and 8. Value was estimated at $600.
