Your news: Fremd Boosters award scholarships

The Fremd High School Viking Booster Club awarded 21, $1000 scholarships in 2010. The five categories from which awards were issued included: school activities, leadership, community service, all-around and community college.
After a great deal of careful evaluation, thought and discussion, the booster committee of seven chose these 21 students from 133 outstanding applications.
In the category of Fremd Activities the following students showed both depth and breadth of activities at Fremd. These four students exemplify school spirit. The recipients for the School Activities category were James J. Schiffer Jr., Jamie Esposito, Drew Klingner and Tess Dinterman.
There were three outstanding recipients of the Booster Service Scholarship. These students were recognized for their incredible contribution to Fremd and the community. The winners were Blaire Lurie, Kristin J. Palarz and Amanda Curry.
There were four fabulous students who demonstrated exceptional leadership skills during their high school years. They were Lisa Koenig, Lena Brottman, Arianna Garcia and Christine Spasoff.
The All-around Scholarship awards students who showed excellence in the areas of Fremd activities, community service, and leadership. The winners were Kristine Werling, Sal Aiello, Sarah Gallo, Kathryn Oakes, Nicholas Grapsas, Carolyn Buesing and Danielle OBrill.
Finally, the boosters were able to award three scholarships to support students who will attend a community college. These recipients were Aaron Stahnke, Aaron DiPrima and Abby Cramer.
