Elginbull; Someone broke into an apartment in the 700 block of West Highland Avenue and stole a 27-inch Sony flat screen television some time between 4:30 p.m. Saturday and 1:30 p.m. Sunday, reports said. The owner found the front door lock had been pried open when she was away for the night, police said. bull; Someone stole a Vizio 37-inch flat panel LCD television at about 9:10 a.m. Saturday from the Target store at 300 South Randall Road, reports said. He put it in his cart and left the store since no one from security was working at that time, and no other employees were authorized to approach him, police said. The video surveillance caught his action but no one has been identified so far, police said.East Dundeebull; Police arrested a pair of Carpentersville youths Sunday accused of working together to steal more than $150 in DVDs from the Walmart on the 600 block of Dundee Avenue. Kareef M. Leachman, 20, of the 400 block of Green Street, was charged with two felony counts of retail theft, while a 17-year-old was charged with one felony count of retail theft. Police said they stole eight DVDs. The juvenile was released from the Elgin jail on his signature, while Leachman is required to post $500 to get out while his case is pending. Leachman is due in court July 21, while the juvenile is scheduled to appear July 28.
