Rose expected to help Team USA reload

All 12 members of the 2008 gold medal-winning U.S. Olympic team have declined invitations to play in this year's FIBA World Championships in Turkey, according to yahoo.com.

The list of no-gos includes Kobe Bryant; the Miami trio of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh; new Bulls forward Carlos Boozer; as well as Carmelo Anthony, Dwight Howard, Chris Paul and Deron Williams.

One thing this means is barring injury, Bulls guard Derrick Rose is a lock to play on Team USA later this summer. Other players who are committed to the World Championships are Kevin Durant, Amare Stoudemire, Lamar Odom and Chauncey Billups. Rajon Rondo is expected to join the roster soon, according to the story.

The World Championships run from Aug. 28 through Sept. 12. Incoming Bulls center Omer Asik is expected to play for the host country.
