Guide to walk you through Geneva's history
Geneva has come a long way in its first 175 years - from the "impossible dream" of an ambitious pioneer to create a town that became the Kane County seat to today's thriving city.
On Thursday, July 15, Geneva History Center educator Margaret Selakovich will give a guided tour of one of Geneva's most interesting neighborhoods located north of State Street in the historic district. The guided tour will feature some of Geneva's oldest churches and quaint homes, as well as stories about some of Geneva's earliest settlers.
The tour will start at 7 p.m. at the Geneva United Methodist Church at Second and Hamilton streets. Admission is $10 for adults, or $5 for Geneva History Center members and students.
The approximate walking distance is one mile. If you are not able to attend the walking tour, plan on joining them at noon Tuesday, Sept. 14 for the Brown Bag Armchair Tour. For information, call Margaret Selakovich at the Geneva History Center at (630) 232-4951.
