Kane Countybull; Two vehicles were burglarized while their owners attended a graduation party between 8:30 and 10 p.m. Saturday in the 37W900 block of Heritage Oaks Drive, St. Charles, police said. A black Fernandes four-string bass guitar, with an EMG soap bar pickup, was stolen out of a locked Toyota Celica. A TomTom GPS device was stolen out of an unlocked Dodge Caliber.bull; Someone scratched one side of a Chevrolet Corvette between 10 p.m. Sunday and 1 a.m. Monday in the 41W700 block of Russell Road, Plato Center, police said.bull; An elderly Geneva-area man reported being "scammed" June 29 by two men who charged nearly $4,000 to blacktop his driveway on the 2100 block of Heather Road, according to a police report. Police caught up with the men as they attempted to cash two checks from the victim at an Evergreen Park loan business. The checks were confiscated, but the victim declined to press charges. Police described the men as "gypsies who did these kind of scams for a living." They were released without charges. bull; A 1992 Toyota Corolla and a 1977 Chevrolet Monte Carlo were reported stolen June 29 from the 4N300 block of County Line Road, near Maple Park. The owner told police the vehicles were inoperable and had been stored on a farm property along the road since October 2009. Both vehicles were black and had been used as race cars at Sycamore Speedway, according to a police report. The Toyota, valued at $1,000, had "49X" painted in white on both doors with a silver skull painted on the hood. The Chevrolet, valued at $5,000, was marked with rust but had a new engine, according to the report.Bataviabull; The windshield, right front door and a quarter panel of a vehicle were damaged at 3:34 a.m. Sunday in the 1800 block of Mill Street, police said.bull; A sweatshirt, purse, wallet, telephone charger, makeup and $20 were taken out of an unlocked vehicle at Saratoga and Whitehall Court, it was reported at 11:18 p.m. Sunday, police said.bull; Two wooden jewelry boxes, a checkbook and a savings account passbook were reported stolen out of a house in the 500 block of Harrison Street at 10:15 p.m. Saturday, police said. The purchase was arranged on the Craigslist commerce website, but the vehicle was never delivered. A teenage boy was seen in the vehicle and ran off when approached. A vehicle at a neighbor's house had been burglarized of $3 in change, and a roofing nailer and its attachments were taken from a truck.bull; Police received a call of juveniles going from car to car in the 1500 block of Charleston Street at 2:56 a.m. June 26.
