Cubs' farmhand Vitters tops minor-league report

I'll catch up with the big club in person this weekend in L.A. For now, we've got some news and notes from the minor leagues. Tomorrow, I'll head down to Wrigley for the game between the Cubs' Class A Peoria club and the Kane County Cougars. Let me know if you're heading down there, too.

Third baseman Josh Vitters moved up to No. 3 in the Tennessee (AA) lineup yesterday in a 3-1 loss to Huntsville. With Ty Wright having moved up to Iowa (AAA), Smokies manager Bill Dancy decided to move Vitters up.

"That's where he should be hitting normally," Dancy told Nick Gates of the Knoxville News Sentinel.
