Pheasant Run unveils summer mainstage lineup

Pheasant Run Resort Mainstage, 4051 E. Main St., St. Charles, heats up with national and local touring acts during Noble Fool Theatricals' 2010 summer season.Performances include:

"The Wonder Bread Years," "Denny Diamond: Neil Diamond Tribute," "Wizard of Oz," Chicago's Neverly Brothers, "Defending the Caveman," Hot Rocks "Rolling Stones Tribute," and "Tony n' Tina's Wedding."

• "The Wonder Bread Years" reminisces about the childhood of an American kid in the 1960s-'70s. Savor memories from the past, including green army men, Etch-A Sketch, Sugar Pops and "The Howdy Doody Show." The Wonder Bread Years runs at 8 p.m. Friday, July 9 and Saturday, July 10, and 2 p.m. Sunday, July 11. Tickets are $39. Overnight and dinner packages are available.

• Spend an evening with Denny Diamond as he pays tribute to Neil Diamond, one of pop music's most enduring and successful singer-songwriters. With his smooth baritone voice is sure to make you "a believer." Includes "Sweet Caroline," Cherry Cherry," Cracklin' Rose," "I'm a Believer," and more. Denny Diamond performs at 8 p.m. Saturday. July 17. Tickets are $39. Overnight and dinner packages are available.

• Prepare to be transported "over the rainbow" by the NFT Youth Ensemble. Join Dorothy and Toto on their quest along the Yellow Brick Road to see the Wizard of Oz. You'll see all your favorite characters including the Tin Man, Cowardly Lion, and Scarecrow brought to life. "Wizard of Oz" performances: July 23 to Aug. 8 on the Pheasant Run Mainstage. Showtimes are at 7 p.m. Fridays, 10:30 a.m. Saturdays, and 2 p.m. Sundays. Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for children ages 12 and younger. Lunch and dinner packages are available.

• Experience the fiery energy of Chicago's Neverly Brothers as they bridge the gap between 1950s rockabilly and the early '60s British invasion. Includes renditions of early hits by Jerry Lee Lewis, Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and more. The Neverly Brothers perform at 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 7. Tickets are $39.

• Broadway's longest running solo play, "Defending the Caveman," will return to Noble Fool Theatricals to have both sexes roaring with laughter. Rob Becker's "Defending the Caveman" mimes the common themes in relationships that go straight to the funny bone. "Defending the Caveman" runs Aug. 13-15. Performances at 8 p.m. Friday, 4:30 and 8 p.m. Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $39. Overnight and dinner packages are available.

• If you like The Rolling Stones, you'll love the sound, look, costumes, and energy Chicago's Hot Rocks bring to the main stage in this Midwest tribute show. Hot Rocks performs at 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 21. Tickets are $29.

• The summer lineup closes with the wedding of Chicago's favorite couple and you're invited. Toast the couple as part of "Tony n' Tina's Wedding" and enjoy the Italian buffet dinner and dance the night away. Who knows what mishaps and madcap comedy may happen in one of Pheasant Run Resort's finest ballrooms. "Tony n' Tina's Wedding" returns to Noble Fool at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 27 after previous sold-out performances. Tickets are $69 and overnight packages are available.
