Aurora housing finally has leader

Let's see, Jean Federman initially turned down the executive director position for the Aurora Housing Authority, then after a nationwide search, none of the top candidates accepted the AHA's offer. Then they go back to Federman, who after being the interim director for 19 of the past 25 months, accepts the permanent position.

I am puzzled why Ms. Federman and top candidates from a national field would turn down a chance to direct the AHA. Maybe the recent chaos, negative local press and perhaps a lack of confidence in the board, were factors.

In any event, they at least have found someone to occupy the captain's chair and must proceed the best they can. At least, the AHA has found the high-profile, visible and progressive leader they have always yearned for. Good choice.
