Elginbull; Jeanette M. Wallace, 29, of the 1200 block of Fairwood Court, Elgin, was arrested and charged with retail theft at 2:01 p.m. Monday at Walmart, 1001 N. Randall Road, reports said. Wallace is accused of stealing $51.50 worth of clothes and jewelry and is due in court on Aug. 13, reports said.bull; A central air conditioning unit, valued at at least $2,500, was stolen between June 21 and Monday from a rental property in the 500 block of Raymond Street, reports said.bull; Someone stole a catalytic converter from underneath a 2003 Chevy Venture at the old Sherman Hospital, 934 Center St., between 8:45 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday, reports said.bull; Shealyn McGuigan, 18, of the 300 block of Julie Lane, Hampshire, was arrested at 7:31 p.m. Sunday on a retail theft charge, police said. She was trying to take two packages of Alli diet pills from the Meijer store on Randall Road, reports said. McGuigan is due in court on July 23.bull; Someone stole a GPS unit and a muscle relaxer from a Toyota Scion between 7 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. Saturday in the 500 block of Van Street, police said.bull; Eddie L. West, 45, of the 100 block of South State Street, was arrested at 5:34 p.m. Friday on a retail theft charge, police said. He was trying to take two air fresheners, two candy bars, two bags of salmon and a box of candy from the CVS Pharmacy at 500 Dundee Ave., police said. West is due in court on July 23.bull; Javier Valdivia, 30, of the 400 block of Prospect Street, was arrested at 3:45 p.m. Friday on a retail theft charge, police said. He was trying to take six cases of beer from the Jewel store at 1040 Summit St., police said. He is due in court on July 30.St. Charlesbull; Jordan Maxwell Hale, 19, of the 300 block of Timbers Trail, and Clayton L. Ginther, 18, of the 0-100 block of Cornell Court in South Elgin, were charged June 22 with illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor, according to a police report. Police were called to the 300 block of Timbers Trail for a report of a battery. Police found Hale in the front yard with blood all over his chest, forearms and hands. The report says Hale told police the blood belonged to Ginther. Ginther then told police he did not require medical assistance. The pair told police they got into a "stupid drunken fight between friends." Ginther told police the pair argued earlier in the day about Hale needing to be more respectful of his mother. He then went to sleep and awoke to Hale punching him in the face. The police report indicates Ginther "was extremely intoxicated" during the police interview. Both Hale and Ginther admitted to drinking alcohol.South Elginbull; A cordless tool power pack, valued at $129, was stolen between 10:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. from a residence in the 1700 block of River Road, reports said.bull; Three center wheel caps, a total value of $120, were stolen between 7:15 a.m. and 1:45 p.m. June 22 from a 1997 Chevy Monte Carlo at South Elgin High School, 760 E. Main St., reports said.Kane Countybull; A small plane drove in to a cornfield near Olson Airport, 9N803 Route 47, Elgin, after being unable to achieve takeoff at 3:04 p.m. Sunday, police said. No one was hurt, and the owner of the field declined to make a claim for damaged cornstalks.bull; A black 32-gigabyte iPod Touch was stolen out of a Cadillac Deville between 9:45 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Saturday in the 14N800 block of Albert Drive, East Dundee, police said. The burglar smashed a window to gain access to the vehicle.bull; Brian H. Humbracht, 21, of the 3300 block of Hagen Drive, Kingston, was charged with possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia and playing loud music, at 12:01 a.m. Saturday in the 35W700 block of Valley View Road, West Dundee, according to a police report. Deputies investigating a noise complaint were questioning Humbracht; while providing requested identification, a crumpled piece of white paper with plastic on it fell to the deck. When asked what it was, Humbracht replied "weed," according to the sheriff's report. A subsequent search revealed the pipe in a pocket. The owner of the home, when contacted by deputies, said she did not know who Humbracht was and that he had no right to be at her house. bull; Vertis L. Wallace, 18, address given as "homeless," was charged with felony aggravated resisting arrest at 7:33 p.m. Thursday, according to a police report. He was a passenger in a car a deputy stopped at Randall Road and South Street in Elgin. Wallace ran off, first entering a nearby restaurant, then running into a detention pond. While chasing him, two officers fell twice. One scraped his elbow, eye and knee, and may have a broken elbow; the other scraped a knee. Wallace told deputies he ran because there were warrants out for his arrest.bull; An East Dundee man led a sheriff's deputy on a high-speed chase through western Elgin, starting at 8:42 p.m. Wednesday, according to a police report. Zachary David Waite is accused of squealing tires on a red Chevrolet Corvette as he pulled out of a driveway on to Russell Road, slid sideways, then drove at 83 mph in a 30 mph zone. He was clocked doing more than 100 mph in a 45-mph zone on Russell, then in a 55 mph zone on Plank Road. He took Coombs Road to Highland Avenue to Pollitt Drive to Stonehaven Drive at speeds of more than 100 mph, before stopping on the driveway of a home on Glendower Terrace, a cul-de-sac. He ran off, and police dogs were called in to search for him. He turned himself in at Clark and Highland avenues in Elgin around 11 p.m. The deputy reports Waite said, "I'm sorry, I was being an idiot" who was upset about being pulled over, and that he figured he could get away because he had a fast car. "Once I realized how stupid and childish I was being, I called my friend ... to come pick me up." He is charged with aggravated fleeing and eluding police, driving while his license was suspended, driving without insurance and speeding. Waite, 22, lives in the 14N800 block of Castle Avenue.
