Who gets top priority when power goes out?
As we moved the contents of our freezer and refrigerator to a friend's house down the road that had power, we saw a ComEd truck stop at a business. We pulled over to find out if the IBEW worker was heading our way soon and were slightly appalled by what we saw and heard.
The business had electricity, but their air conditioning wasn't working and ComEd was there to fix it.
I am pro-business, but I couldn't help to think of my elderly neighbors who were also without power and their suffering because ComEd couldn't figure out their priorities. I guess an 85-year-old man lifting his garage door by hand is less important than an lighting company that has partial electricity but no air conditioning.
