This economy runs on oil, replacement yet to be found
The president's recent speech on the oil leak was filled with untruths, if you will, that were as slick as the oil he refers to.
China is buying coal mines, drilling for oil all over the world including the Gulf and has laughed at the Kyoto treaty, yet the President makes it sound like they're moving fast on alternative energy. The only thing they're moving fast at it surpassing the U.S. in production of energy.
There are places all over America and the surrounding seas we can drill, not to mention oil shale in Colorado, yet the president makes it sound like were out of places to drill. He demonizes BP in public but took over $1 million in campaign contributions, and BP will reap big money benefits from the green technology and cap-and-trade legislation.
What's $20 billion when you stand to make 10 times that much at the expense of the public? And you all thought the Republicans were in bed with big business.
Finally, if you believe we have a replacement for oil, you have you head buried in the oily sand. There is nothing on earth that can do what oil does. This economy runs on oil and when the cost of heating your homes, the cost of everything you buy and the cost of filling your gas tank goes through the roof due to this new version of cap and trade passing. If it does, the effect on the economy will be devastating.
