St. Charlesbull; A Tom-Tom GPS Unit and two purses were reported stolen from two vehicles parked in a garage at a residence on the 3100 block of Greenwood Lane in St. Charles between June 18 and 19, police said. The side entrance to the garage had been left unlocked.bull; Freddie Lee Parson Jr., 41, of the 5300 block of West Huron Street in Chicago, was charged June 21 with retail theft, according to a police report. Store security at Meijer, 855 S. Randall Road, observed Parson fill two reusable Meijer grocery bags filled with merchandise, then exit the store through a resister lane that was closed. Once outside, a store employee asked Parson for a receipt. Parson told the employee his wife had the receipt. He then pushed the cart back into the store, walked to the other end of the building and tried to exit again with the groceries. Parson then admitted to the theft, according to the report. The total value of the items in Parson's bags was about $730.bull; A 66-gallon air tank was reported stolen from a residence on the 900 block of Dean Street between June 18 and 21 while the resident was out of town, police said. A 94-year-old woman was at the residence at the time of the reported theft and told police a man had come to the door asking about taking the tank, possibly for scrap materials. The woman told the man he could not take the tank. bull; A quarter-carat diamond ring, a diamond and tanzanite gold ring, a gold locket with a "Valerie and Conner 031199" inscription and two other bracelets were reported stolen from a car parked in the lot at a fitness center on the 200 block of North Randall Road between June 18 and 20, police said. The vehicle had possibly been left unlocked in the parking lot. The estimated value of the jewelry is about $1,200.bull; Samantha Marie Brubaker, 21, of the 6N100 block of Florence Lane, was charged June 22 with retail theft, according to a police report. Store security at Meijer, 855 S. Randall Road, observed Brubaker bring two reusable shopping bags into the store and fill them with groceries. After purchasing some coffee, Brubaker left the store without paying for the groceries. The value of the items in the grocery bags was about $141. bull; Jordan Maxwell Hale, 19, of the 300 block of Timbers Trail, and Clayton L. Ginther, 18, of the 0-100 block of Cornell Court in South Elgin, were charged June 22 with illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor, according to a police report. Police were called to the 300 block of Timbers Trail for a report of a battery. Police found Hale in the front yard with blood all over his chest, forearms and hands. The report says Hale told police the blood belonged to Gunther. Gunther then told police he did not require medical assistance. The pair told police they got into a "stupid drunken fight between friends." Gunther told police the pair argued earlier in the day about Hale needing to be more respectful of his mother. He then went to sleep and awoke to Hale punching him in the face. The police report indicates Gunther "was extremely intoxicated" during the police interview. Both Hale and Gunther admitted to drinking alcohol.Kane Countybull; A small plane drove in to a cornfield at Olson Airport, 9N803 Route 47, near Plato Center, after being unable to achieve takeoff at 3:04 p.m. Sunday, police said. No one was hurt, and the owner of the field declined to make a claim for damaged cornstalks.
