Amazing night of entertainment on tap at BHS
I was so pleased to see the article on the upcoming "60 Years of Achievement of Barrington High School Performing Arts."
As a former teacher and lover of the arts, it is a particular nostalgic time for me. So many former BHS students are returning to perform on July 9th and 10th.
I wonder if our community is aware that our world-renown opera singer, Kallen Esperian, has chosen to return! Lovers of dance will hear a tribute by Hubbard Street dancer and choreographer, Claire Bataille and daytime drama star, Colleen Zenk, of "As the World Turns," will make a presentation.
Ellen Werksman of Midwest Dance Collective will return. Chris Limber, director of the Repertory Opera Theater of St. Louis, will perform. Former student and faculty member, Ron Velleuer, will direct the 28-piece orchestra.
Many of "our kids", (I still think of them that way!), are flying in from coast-coast. It will be lovely to sit back and take pride in our outstanding former students.
If you stop by the headquarters at the former Chuck Hines building, take a peek at the beautiful banners of previous productions.
