Jenks out on family emergency leave

CHICAGO - Prior to today's game, right-handed pitcher Bobby Jenks of the Chicago White Sox was placed on the Major League Bereavement/Family Medical Emergency List. To replace Jenks on the 25-man roster, the White Sox purchased the contract of left-hander Erick Threets from Class AAA Charlotte.

Jenks must remain on the list for a minimum of three days.

Jenks, 29, is 1-1 with a 4.03 ERA (13 ER/29.0 IP), 17 saves and 35 strikeouts in 31 games this season. He is tied for second in the American League in save percentage (94.4, 17-18) and tied for fifth in saves.
