In memory of a special friend
As we go through life we meet many people. Some come and go while others make an impact on our lives. We just lost a man who made a huge impact on the lives of others. It was 23 years ago when I first started organizing programs for the developmentally disabled. That same year Jerry Brunette became a part of our lives. Without knowing any of us, he recognized the need to help financially to keep the programs going. He reached into his pocket and gave us money. He then made it possible for me to become acquainted with the Libertyville Rotary Club. They became a partner in our programs for many years with huge donations. Jerry also personally supported us all these years.
Jerry was a friend in all ways. He attended many of our activities and was a friend to our athletes. He was a kind, caring, sensitive person who touched all those who met him.
He never forgot us and we will never forget him. He was one of a kind. He was truly a great man with a big heart.
Jerry, thank you for all that you have done for us. You are special and you will be missed.
Jerry passed away on June 12.
