Scouting report: Indiana Fever at Chicago Sky

Indiana Fever (8-5) at Chicago Sky (6-8)

When: 5 p.m., today

Where: Allstate Arena

TV: CN100

Last time: On Friday, the Fever lost to the Storm in Seattle 85-81 while the Sky defeated the visiting Washington Mystics 79-72).

The skinny: The Sky is rolling again, and this time in the right direction. After a four-game losing streak to start the season, then a four-game winning streak, then a four-game losing streak, the Sky has won its last two games. The victory over the Mystics, the first for the Sky in three tries this season, was a tribute to the team's ever-improving perimeter game. Center Sylvia Fowles did finish with 16 points, but for the second straight game she was in foul trouble and sat for a big chunk of the fourth quarter. The guards compensated nicely as Jia Perkins (20 points), Epiphanny Prince (14 points) and Dominique Canty (13 points) each reached double-figures. Before its loss to Seattle, which boasts the best record in the WNBA, the Fever was chugging along quite nicely, having won six of its last seven. Sky coach Steven Key says Indiana, the defending Eastern Conference champion, is probably the most complete team in the WNBA. It also boasts one of the best dynamic duos in former Stevenson star Tamika Catchings and Katie Douglas. Douglas dropped 29 points on Seattle and Catchings added 17. They were the only two Fever players to reach double figures and they are the only two to average double figures on the season. Catchings leads the Fever with 16.5 points per game while Douglas is at 14.8 points per game.
