Something that isn't true is a lie, not untruths or overstatements
In an article published in the Daily Herald on Saturday, June 5 the writer referred to my Congressman Mark Kirk's lies as "Kirk's overstatements" and as "Kirk's untruths." Put away the thesaurus!
Reporters need to tell the truth and use the correct words. Lies are lies, are lies, not synonyms for overstatements and untruths. Perhaps now that he has been outed, so to speak, perhaps there is one lone investigative journalist who might want to fact check some of his other statements. My Congressman, Mark Kirk likes to make statements at town hall meetings using phrases like "the Kirk Amendment" and "that's why I propose the Kirk bill."
Is there anyone at any off our Chicago area newspapers willing to do some fact-checking and give the voting public the truth about this guy?
