Bartlett Festival of the Arts features about 40 diverse exhibitors

The eighth annual Bartlett Festival of the Arts has a large and varied group of artists and entertainers signed up to appear in the downtown area.

About 40 artists will display paintings, photography, fiber, sculpture, ceramics, glass, jewelry, wood and other media from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 26-27.

Attendees vote for their favorite artist, with the People's Choice Award announced at 4:30 p.m. Sunday. Winners of Best of Show, Excellence Awards, Mayor's Award and others will be announced by noon Saturday.

The Center for the Arts, 117 Railroad St., will display works by local artists and an exhibit of Bartlett's Sister City in Taiwan.

Downtown business are staging events related to the festival, including a wine tasting from 3-5 p.m. both days at Town Liquor & Food, samples of Italian ice, Pasta Mia; a sidewalk sale 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Treasures; performances and games from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Dance Motions; lemonade and cookies at Van Deusen's Hair Studio, a flower make and take at Floral Excellence at Banbury Fair.

Free parking is at village hall, Oneida at Oak, on the east side of Banbury Fair and at Metra lots. Visit village.bartlett.il.us.
