New 'Mr. Magoo?' Well, new on DVD

The blithely blind UPA cartoon character, with voice by Jim Backus (Thurston Howell III from "Gilligan's Island"), has a classic episode out, "Mr. Magoo in Sherwood Forest," in which he plays Friar Tuck. It's not the masterpiece "Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol" is, but it's well worth the $10 list price from Classic Media.The Wild Itralian wayOldies WLS 94.7-FM disc jockey Dick Biondi, a Chicago fixture going back to the glory days of Top 40 WLS 890-AM and beyond, gets a street named for him at a ceremony at 2 p.m. Tuesday.
