St. Charlesbull; A GPS system was reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 200 block of Walnut Drive between June 14 and 15, police said. The driver's side window of the vehicle was shattered to gain access to the vehicle. The GPS had an estimated value of about $100.Elginbull; Isaiah Whitfield, 21, of the 3600 block of Marieme Drive, Rockford, was charged with felony unlawful possession and use of a weapon, possession of a firearm with defaced identification marks and misdemeanor resisting a peace officer Tuesday, reports said. Police found a loaded pistol on him during a traffic stop Tuesday while Whitfield was trying to run away, reports said. His bond was set at $7,000. And he is due in court July 2. bull; Javonte Lloyd, 17, of the 1200 block of Amanda Circle, appeared in adult bond court Wednesday, charged with felony armed robbery and aggravated robbery, reports said. On March 9, he robbed a stranger of a cell phone and $1,000 in cash using a handgun, police said. His bond was set at $6,000. Lloyd will appear in adult court on June 30. bull; Perenell L. Clark, 44, who is homeless, was arrested at 1 a.m. Wednesday in the 0-99 block of South Gifford Street for unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, police said. Police found on him a crack pipe with burn marks on both ends, reports said. He will appear in the Elgin Branch Court on July 16.bull; Someone stole an iPhone from an unlocked white Mazda RX8 at 11:51 p.m. Tuesday at the Mobil gas station at 275 S. McLean Blvd., police said. The owner had GPS on his phone and tracked it on the Internet. The phone was found damaged between McLean Boulevard and Weld Road, reports said.bull; Philip A. Greener, 19, of the 1000 block of Kane Street, South Elgin, was charged Monday with retail theft, according to a police report. He tried to steal $68.76 worth of vitamins and condoms from the Walmart at 1001 North Randall Road, police said. He has a July 19 court date. bull; Ryan J. Loftus, 25, of the 1800 block of Cambridge Drive, St. Charles, was charged Monday with unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a police report. Police reported finding a glass tube containing marijuana in his car in a parking lot at 10 South State St. He has an Aug. 2 court date. Kane Countybull; Joyce D. Fetrow, 34, of the 200 block of Mill Street, Batavia, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, resisting a peace officer and illegal transportation of open alcohol, at 11:39 p.m. June 17, according to a police report. A deputy reported finding her asleep behind the wheel of her car - which had its headlights on, engine running, and a flat tire - in a parking lot in the 1900 block of McKee Street, Batavia. The deputy reported seeing a brown bag, containing five empty wine bottles on the passenger seat, and two unopened bottles in the center console. The deputy reported that Fetrow refused to get out of the car when instructed.bull; A Hewlett-Packard laptop computer belonging to the Batavia public school district was stolen out of an employee's unlocked Jeep Cherokee between 4 and 10 p.m. Friday in the 0N500 block of Bowdish Drive, Geneva, according to a police report.bull; An emergency weather radio, two pairs of sunglasses, two emergency vehicle flashlights and $10 in coins were stolen out of an unlocked Jeep Cherokee and an unlocked Acura MDV between 9:30 p.m. Friday and 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the 36W200 block of Crane Road, St. Charles, police said.bull; Gregory Bartlett, 45, of the 1100 block of Pleasant Terrace in Aurora, was charged with possession of cannabis at 1:50 p.m. Friday, according to a police report. He is accused of bringing a plastic bag containing 3.2 grams of cannabis in to the lobby of the Kane County Judicial Center, 37W777 Route 38, St. Charles. A courthouse security officer noticed a bulge in one of Bartlett's pockets while Bartlett was going through a metal detector. According to the reporting deputy, Bartlett said he "messed up and forgot the cannabis was in his pants."bull; A Ford box truck and a blue van were burglarized between 1 and 7 a.m. June 12 in the 200 block of South Drive, South Elgin, police said. The van was unlocked, and a window on the truck was left open enough for the burglar to reach in and unlock a door. Stolen were a GPS device, a Kenwood stereo faceplate, a Nextel I530 cellular telephone, a cordless reciprocating saw, a cordless hammer drill, a Milwaukee electric half-inch drill, a Milwaukee electric reciprocating saw, a 18-volt Ryobi cordless circular saw, an 18-volt Ryobi cordless drill and a black-and-yellow tool bag.bull; Cathleen E. Smith, 57, of the 2900 block of Langston Circle, St. Charles, was given a ticket for leaving the scene of a property-damage accident, at 12:53 p.m. Friday in the 39W500 block of Newton Square, Geneva, according to a police report. She is accused of backing a Chevrolet HHR truck out of a driveway and into a passing Toyota Camry. The Camry's driver turned onto Halladay Drive and stopped to inspect her car. She and a witness to the crash reported seeing Smith stop her truck, look at its damage, then tell a female passenger to get back in, then drove off. The witness told deputies that Smith's vehicle, which advertised a dog day-care business, was regularly seen at the neighbor's house. Smith then returned to the scene, telling the deputy she had left because she had another dog to tend.bull; An Xbox video game console, a Sony PlayStation 2 video game console, 27 movie DVDs, 158 Xbox and PlayStation video games and 212 music CDs were reported stolen out of a home in the 6N100 block of River Road, St. Charles, between 5 p.m. June 16 and 1:45 p.m. Monday, police said. The owner believes the burglar entered through an unlocked door between the garage and the house.bull; Francisco Nieto, 20, of the 400 block of North Glenview Street, Mundelein, was charged with driving without a valid license and possession of cannabis at 8:05 p.m. Friday at Routes 47 and 20, Pingree Grove, a report said. A deputy noticed his vehicle was stopped, partially on the road, forcing traffic to go around him. He told the deputy he had missed a turn and was trying to turn around. The deputy reported smelling cannabis when he approached the vehicle. A search of a backpack revealed a bag containing 6 grams of cannabis, rolled up in a red knit hat, the report said.bull; An unknown vehicle damaged a driveway and a concrete culvert when it went off the road in the 41W900 block of Northway Drive near Elgin between noon Saturday and 11 a.m. Sunday, police said. Based on a broken part left at the scene, police think the damage might have been done by a General Motors truck; the part was listed as fitting a 2003 GMC Sierra 1500 four-wheel drive truck.bull; Aurelio Munoz, 19, of the 400 block of Harrison Street, Elgin, was charged June 17 with residential burglary, according to a police report. He is accused of trying to break in to a building in the 15N700 block of Elgin Street, near East Dundee. A caretaker was in the building and scared off several men. The vehicle one of them took off in hit a wooden utility trailer. Police stopped a vehicle matching the description given by the caretaker and arrested Munoz, the report said.
