Your news: Marin Auto Body hosts car wash to help the Palatine Heat

Palatine-based Marin Auto Body recently helped the Palatine Heat U12 Boys baseball team raise funds for a trip to Cooperstown, N.Y., by hosting a car wash Sunday, June 13, at their business, 615 W. Colfax, in Palatine.

"We're happy to support the community of Palatine in any way we can" said Nidya Marin, whose family has owned the collision repair business for 10 years.

Alfredo Marin helped the boys get off to a great start by demonstrating proper car washing techniques. By noon, the team had washed approximately 50 cars, and raised more than $600.

In July the team will travel to Dreams Park in Cooperstown, N.Y., where they will compete against more than 90 teams from across the country. Cooperstown is the home of the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
