Native American women to display art at center
"Intrigue and Novelty," an exhibit of paintings, drawings and photography by Native American women, will close Wednesday, June 30, at Aurora University's Schingoethe Center for Native American Cultures in Dunham Hall, 1400 Marseillaise Place in Aurora.
The display, part of the museum's 20th anniversary celebration, showcases contemporary Native American female artists interpreting the world and their place in it through their art.
Artists exhibiting include Christine Caluya, Amber Gunn Gauthier, Nadya Kwandibens, Linda Lomahaftewa, America Meredith, Rose B. Simpson and Debra Yepa-Pappan, who is also guest curator.
Center summer hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday; closed during August. For details, call (630) 844-7843.
