Heritage Woods to celebrate service to seniors

Heritage Woods of South Elgin will celebrate its service to seniors by throwing a big celebration and United Way fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 26.

Festivities include balloons, clowns, animals, family games, a dunk tank, food and fun for everyone. A special online auction will be hosted on a special auction website, 32auctions.com. People can log on to the site and participate in the auction. The auction starts at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 23 and ends at 6 p.m. Friday, June 25. To participate, enter the auction ID: unitedwayelgin, and the password: heritagewoods. A live auction will also take place on the day of the event.

All money raised will benefit the United Way of Elgin, which serves the greater Elgin and South Elgin area.

Heritage Woods of South Elgin, which opened in June 2009, is an assisted-living lifestyle community serving seniors 65 and older. It offers independent apartment style living for seniors, with assistance for daily living activities such as providing three meals a day, and assistance with weekly housekeeping, laundry, transportation, as well as scheduled activities and programs for all residents. Twenty-four hour staffing is provided, ongoing medical monitoring and medication reminders as well. All income levels are welcome. For information, call (847) 531-8360.
