Police say Naperville woman was driving 101 mph

A Naperville woman is accused of driving 101 mph on Route 59 while intoxicated.

Catherine A. Cremer, 25, was arrested just before 4 a.m. June 12 after police said they clocked her black 2006 Honda reaching speeds of 101 mph while going south on Route 59 near 103rd Street through Naperville.

The posted speed limit is 45 mph.

Police said Cremer failed sobriety tests during the traffic stop. She refused to submit to a breath-alcohol test, according to court records.

Police cited her for driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding more than 40 mph over the posted limit, illegal transportation of liquor, possession of drug paraphernalia (a glass pipe with marijuana residue), as well as disobeying a traffic control device, improper lane use and failure to yield the right of way while making a left turn.

A family member posted $100 as bail June 12. Cremer, of the 1600 block of Dublin Drive, is due to be arraigned July 13 in Wheaton. Her driving history includes about a half-dozen tickets in recent years in DuPage County for speeding, the court records showed.
