Palatine marijuana production plant busted
Authorities say they nipped a thriving marijuana farm in the bud Friday, leading to the arrest of a Hoffman Estates man.
Michael Mogilinski, 24, of the 4600 block of Sapphire Drive, is charged with unlawful delivery of cannabis and unlawful production of cannabis.
Acting on a search warrant, police entered a house at the first block of East Briarwood Lane in Palatine Friday that Mogilinski was renting. They found about 670 marijuana plants as well as high-definition lights, fans and a dehumidifier.
Mogilinski, who owns a roofing company, has four other drug-related arrests in his past, prosecutors said during a hearing in Rolling Meadows court on Saturday.
Cook County Judge Margarita Kulys Hoffman set bond at $100,000. Mogilinski's next court date is July 16.
