When experience matters in politics

Susan Estrich in her June 14 editorial implies that she would rather vote for an experienced politician than one who is running for the first time. I'm sure she had that same feeling when she voted for Barack Obama in 2008.

She says what matters is not winning but governing. To quote her,."Even the most disciplined guy in the game, President Obama, makes the occasional gaffe." She probably had second thoughts about writing that sentence. Everyone knows how experienced Obama was at governing when he was elected. My final thought is this, if Pelosi, Reid, and Frank had been plumbers for twenty years I am sure I would not call them to fix my toilet.
