Kirk should know he's not above law
Back in May, columnist Kathleen Parker wrote a column, "Real Marines don't lie." It was about the stretching of the truth that some politicians have fabricated about their military service.
Another column could be written, "Real Sailors don't lie," and devote it to the many lies perpetrated by Congressman Mark Kirk, a naval reservist.
Of all people who should not lie about their military service, it's members of Congress. I'm sure that Mark Kirk voted for the law when it was presented in the U.S. House that makes such lies unlawful. It's more than an embarrassment. Mark Kirk did what he himself acknowledged as unlawful.
No one is above the law, not even members of Congress, and that is the truth.
