Scouting: Atlanta Dream at Chicago Sky

San Antonio in Atlanta (90-83); on Friday, the Sky lost to Washington at Allstate Arena (95-78). Skinny: The Sky is hoping to re-create the success it had on the road against Atlanta about a week ago. Having jetted out to the best start in the WNBA at 6-0, Atlanta then lost two games in a row, to Seattle and then to the Sky (80-70)-In the win over Atlanta, defense was the story for the Sky, which held 6-foot-5 forward Erika de Souza scoreless. She is averaging 12.2 points per game. Even more impressive, the Sky virtually shut down Dream guard Angel McCoughtry, an early favorite for the league's MVP award. She is averaging 20.8 points per game. McCoughtry wound up scoring 11 points on the Sky but accumulated most of them in garbage time. For the Sky, center Sylvia Fowles led four players in double-figures with19 points. Fowles is averaging 19.3 points per game-Since losing those back-to-back games to Seattle and the Sky, the Dream has won 2 of its last three. The Sky has been up and down. The Dream win was the Sky's third in a four-game winning streak. But that streak ended with a loss to New York one week ago.
