Business Champion nominees:McHenry County Economic Development Corporation is seeking nominations for its Business Champion Awards, which will be presented at the EDC annual dinner in September. The awards recognize outstanding business that have made an impact on the economy of McHenry County and are presented in three categories: small (24 or fewer employees), medium (25 to 100) and large. Nomination forms are available at mchenrycountyedc.com and should be completed by June 30. Nominees will be interviewed by phone. Finalists and nominators will be invited to a private reception before the annual dinner. The term expires May 1, 2013. The board consists of three members appointed by the village president with the consent of the village board. The board examines and appoints eligible police and fire officers to available positions. To be considered, submit a letter of interest to Ed Ritter, village president, 1200 LW Besinger Drive, Carpentersville 60110, no later than June 22.Nutrition counter availableAramark, the vendor that serves lunches to 20,000 students in Community Unit District 300, now offers an online nutritional calculator. Using the tool, students, parents and staff can find nutritional information for items served at District 300 elementary schools. The calculator can be viewed at aramark.d300.org/aramark/nutritional-calculator. The food service vendor also plans to create calculators for the district's middle and high schools.
