Breaking Free to host Golf Classic in honor of Aurora humanitarian

Breaking Free will host the fourth annual Jack Morcos Memorial Golf Classic recognizing the humanitarian efforts of the late Jack Morcos, an Aurora-area businessman, family man, philanthropist and avid golfer. The Golf Classic is scheduled for a 1 p.m. shotgun start on Thursday, June 24 at the Whitetail Ridge Golf Club in Yorkville.

According to Michael Moran, executive director of Breaking Free, the thought of paying tribute to Jack Morcos through the Golf Classic was greeted enthusiastically by his family and friends: "Jack was an energetic, caring individual whose efforts contributed greatly to the success of our previous outings. In addition to his love for his family, he had a well known passion for golf. We couldn't thank him enough for his time and dedication and are delighted to have the opportunity to honor his memory at this event."

This year's "Jack Morcos Helping Hands Award" honoree is Daniel D. Dolan Sr. in recognition of his lifelong commitment to the Aurora area and his tireless efforts to strengthen the community.

The Golf Classic committee members are: Peter Bokos, Trudy Huberty, Nicole Jeannides, Michael Morcos, Stephen Morcos, Vicki Morcos, Myrna Smar, Bob Vaughan and Denny Wiggins. The Golf Classic is open to the public and sponsorship opportunities are available. A $150 registration fee and donation includes a boxed lunch, one round of golf, golf cart, silent auction and the award dinner. For nongolfers, a dinner-only option is available for $50.
