Put down your kids' piggy bank

I really love her, but please don't tell her ... she's my precious and adorable one-year-old granddaughter.

Don't tell her, you ask? Well, I have a creative and convenient idea ... I am now no longer employed and receiving the benefit of employer paid health insurance. My ex boss paid for single premiums for many years. I paid to upgrade to a family plan. And now? Nothing ... nada.

So I am out there, looking for my own insurance, and finding that it is a challenge to pay for what I want. So, here is my brainstorm - creative and convenient. I will borrow my granddaughter's credit card to pay for my own insurance premiums. Tada! But don't tell her. She will have the money someday to pay the costs back, but if we tell her now, she may say, "No way!" But I deserve it, and need it ... it's my right!

Sorry, granddaughter, I love ya but I want it and need it now.

But isn't that the American Way? Use someone else's money to pay for what I want? Not the America of my parents and grandparents, but sadly the America of today.
