Celebrations should make headlines
I attended a Mass at St. Gilbert parish and witnessed the 40th anniversary of our priest Father Gene.
Humbling, in the midst of all the scandals, to be in the company of someone who achieves this accomplishment without nary a newspaper or camera to witness such an event.
The beauty of a Mass like this is beyond this man.
This choir of I think angel-inspired musicians filled this building that our previous priest, Father Beaven, worked so hard to build for us, with sounds of joy made one grateful to be in the company of these holy people.
With all the nasty things that go on in this world, it really is too bad that more emphasis isn't put on these wonderful things that take place in everybody's community.
While the children graduate and sing their sweet songs, we can only hope they continue to join in these wonderful choirs and sing of this wonderful world God gave us and treat the rest of us to the rush of pride we feel as we enjoy the talent of the people who give of their time to celebrate such a beautiful event.
So congratulations for a great achievement by a humble man overlooked as there is scandal to grab the media's attention.
