Making the case for concealed carry

The recent incident in which an 80-year-old man defended his family with a handgun illustrates the need for Illinois, and Chicago in particular, to finally pass legislation allowing concealed carry and keeping a handgun for protection.

It's unfortunate that this gentleman was not able to follow the law but the outcome was much better than if he had. Mayor Daley, in his infinite wisdom while being questioned about his subjects being able to defend themselves, instead chose to avoid the subject. What a stand up guy!

I wonder if King Richard would consider giving up his armed security detail since it's obvious nobody (including him) should have the need for a gun. I know his life is far more important than that of us common folks, but I really think he needs to start leading by example, and this is a perfect way to start. What do you say, Richie?
