East Dundee motorcycle rider injured in crash
An East Dundee man was seriously injured Wednesday when he was struck head on while riding his three-wheeled motorcycle on Route 25 in Carpentersville.
Police said Randy Seiler, 42, was heading south on Route 25 when a northbound Jeep Cherokee driven by Nguyen Tran, 24, of the 1800 block of Cambridge Drive in Carpentersville, made a left turn in front of him. The SUV and motorcycle crashed head on, police said. Seiler was thrown from the motorcycle and was taken to Sherman Hospital in Elgin with serious but nonlife-threatening injuries, police said. He later was transferred to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, where he was still listed in critical condition late Thursday.
Tran was issued citations for driving on a suspended license, driving without insurance and an improper left turn, police said.
