Dist. 44 seeks new board member

Lombard Elementary District 44 is seeking applicants to fill a vacancy on the school board.

Sandra Hill, a board member since 1999, has resigned effective June 30 due to increasing demands at work and home. Anyone interested in serving should contact board secretary Mary Roman at mroman@sd44.org or (630) 827-4420.

Completed applications must be returned by July 7; interviews will be the week of July 12. To be eligible, a candidate must be a U.S. citizen, at least 18, a resident of the district for at least a year and a registered voter.

The new board member will serve the remainder of Hill's term, which ends in April 2011.
