Frontier Days scholarship deadline is June 15

The deadline is June 15 to apply for the Frontier Days Scholarship Program, open to young men and women between 17 and 22 who are residents of Arlington Heights.

A minimum $1,000 for first place and additional $500 prizes will be rewarded. Funds are paid directly to a college, university or school of the winner's choice. Funds must be used toward tuition and must be claimed by Nov. 30, 2010.

Pick up an application at all Arlington Heights area high schools or the Arlington Heights Memorial Library. Or download a PDF from www.frontierdays.org.

Drop off applications only at the Library, second floor reception desk.

Winners will be chosen by an independent panel of judges. Judging will be held 6-8 p.m. June 16 at the Arlington Heights Memorial Library, 500 N. Dunton. Recipients will be recognized at 7:45 p.m. Friday, July 2 at the Main Stage of the Frontier Days festival. The festival is July 1-5 at Recreation Park.
