Scouting the Colorado Rapids: The Rapids (6-3-1, 19 points) are off to their best start in years, and they're doing it with defense. Former Fire goalkeeper Matt Pickens has a goals-against average of 0.7. However, defensive midfielder Pablo Mastroeni will miss the game due to a red-card suspension.
Scouting the Fire: The Fire (3-3-4, 13 points) wants to head into the World Cup break with a second straight home win. Colorado will want to find someone who can stay with speedy winger Patrick Nyarko, who's among league leaders with 6 assists.
