New York Liberty (2-4) at Chicago Sky (4-4)
When: 7 p.m., today
Where: Allstate Arena
TV: Comcast CN100
Last time: On Saturday, New York lost at the Indiana Fever, 78-73 and the Sky defeated the visiting Tulsa Shock, 95-70.
Skinny: It's the drive for five for the Sky, which looks to extend its winning streak to five games. When the Sky defeated Tulsa on Saturday to get its fourth straight victory, it set a record for most consecutive wins in franchise history. The Sky will be looking for redemption against the Liberty, which played a part in the Sky's 0-4 start. New York was the Sky's second loss back on May 16, an 85-82 decision at Madison Square Garden. Sylvia Fowles is coming off a monster game against Tulsa. She poured in a career-high 32 points and pulled down 13 rebounds in leading the Sky to its largest margin of victory (25 points) in franchise history. Forward Shameka Christon is also coming off a big night, her best in a Sky uniform. She tagged Tulsa with 17 points on 4-of-6 shooting from 3-point land. New York's first appearance at Allstate Arena this season is highlighted by the return home of former Marshall star Cappie Pondexter, who was traded in the off-season from the Phoenix Mercury to the Liberty. Pondexter helped Phoenix win the WNBA championship last season and is one of the best guards in the league. She averages 17.8 points and 5.8 assists per game.
