Mark Kirk disgraces the U.S. Navy
As a Navy veteran, I am embarrassed by Congressman Mark Kirk's false claim that he was named "Intelligence Officer of the Year."
He says that it was a mistake. Nonsense. Everyone who has served or now serves in the U.S. Armed Forces remembers every award he or she received, when it was received, and what he/she did to earn it. You do not forget these things.
To make matters worse, Mr. Kirk has repeated this falsehood, and attempted to correct it only when he was caught.
He should immediately resign his commission as a naval officer. He is a disgrace to the United States Navy.
