Kirk has excellent record of service

Congressman Mark Kirk is a 20-year Navy veteran with an outstanding record of service to our nation's veterans. I am a veteran myself, and have strong respect for what Kirk has done in service of our country.

In Congress, Mark Kirk worked to improve veterans' health care services, increase veteran education opportunities, and pay tribute to disabled veterans.

Since he was first elected in 2001, Congress more than doubled its support for veterans' health care. Locally, Mark Kirk saved the North Chicago VA Medical Center from imminent closing. He worked with area veterans to keep the VA hospital open and build a brand new, state-of-the-art Navy/VA Hospital in its place. The new facility will care for more than 100,000 veterans and their families.

I urge my fellow veterans and all Illinoisans to support Mark Kirk for Senate. He deserves our respect and our vote.
