Help support Des Plaines foundation with Day at the Races

The nonprofit Des Plaines Community Foundation will conduct its seventh annual "Day at the Races" fundraiser Saturday, June 12, at Arlington Park.

Doors open at noon. The fundraiser will be held in the International Room on the Fourth Floor of the racetrack building, 2200 W. Euclid Ave., Arlington Heights.

Tickets are $75 per person, which includes racetrack admission and daily race program, buffet lunch and open bar.

The event benefits the Des Plaines Health Community Partnership funding the programs and services for youth, senior citizens, working adults, people with special needs, and after-school programs. The Day at the Races is partially supported by a charitable contribution from Arlington Park.

Funds are raised through ticket sales, a silent auction and raffle.

Silent auction items will be available for viewing on race day. Participants can bid for items such as hotel stays, golf packages, spa, sporting events, collectibles and gifts. Also, $10 raffle tickets will be sold for a chance to win a $500 grand prize, two second place prizes of hotel stays with breakfast and dinner included, and three third-place prizes of $100 gift certificates.
