Enter your homemade pie for charity bake-off

The Association for Individual Development is holding its first old-fashioned pie bake-off Sunday, June 13, during the weekly French Market, off Third Street in downtown Geneva.

Join in the fun and festivities and submit a homemade pie for judging.

Judges include nationally known pastry chef and author Gale Gand; Deb Pankey, food editor of the Daily Herald; and Jackie Lubahn, director of creative design at Kathy's Creations.

The baker of the first-place pie will win $250, and there will be a variety of consolation prizes awarded to other participants including gift cards to local businesses. There is a $10 nonrefundable entry fee with all proceeds of the event benefiting AID. The deadline to enter is Monday, June 7.

The Association for Individual Development, or AID, is a nonprofit, community-based organization whose mission is to enrich the lives of children and adults with developmental disabilities by promoting individual achievement and community inclusion.

AID provides programs for 5,100 individuals and has been serving the Fox Valley area for more than 45 years.
