Warren cruises to regional title

Warren 9, Glenbrook North 2: At Lake Zurich, Kevin Colburn clubbed a 3-run home run in the sixth inning, as the second-seeded Blue Devils pulled away from the seventh-seeded Spartans to win the Class 4A regional.

Lefty Zach Schneider (10-2) pitched 6 innings for his second win of the state tournament. He had thrown 3 innings in a 14-0 rout of Lake Forest on Thursday.

Pat Oliver added 3 hits, including a double, for Warren (28-9), which advances to the Barrington sectional and will play Carmel at 4:15 p.m. Thursday.
