Naperville North stuns Providence in seventh inning

Naperville North 7, Providence 6: Trailing 6-4 heading to the bottom of the seventh inning, the Huskies (30-7) scored 3 runs to win the Class 4A Naperville North regional championship. Jack Krejci's bases-loaded infield single to score Charlie White capped the rally. Naperville North trailed 5-0 until a 4-run third inning brought the Huskies back in the game. They'll play top-seeded Naperville Central in Wednesday's Plainfield South sectional semifinals.

Wheaton North 3, Lyons Twp. 2: The Falcons (27-9) claimed their third straight regional title behind Jeff Schalk's 3-run homer in the bottom of the sixth inning - just their second hit of the game. With two outs and no one on base, Mike Small walked and Mike Coduto was hit by a pitch to set up Schalk's game-winning blast in the Class 4A Wheaton North regional final. Winning pitcher Eric Scandora improved to 5-2 with his complete-game effort. Second-seeded Wheaton North will play No. 6 Lake Park in Thursday's St. Charles East sectional semifinals.

Immaculate Conception 7, Harvard 2: The Knights (29-10) won their second sectional title in three years with the victory in the Class 2A Lisle sectional final. Immaculate Conception will play Herscher in Monday's Lisle supersectional. The Knights opened a 5-0 lead by the fourth inning behind a complete-game 5-hitter by Kevin Nutley, who also drove in 3 runs. Matt McMahon went 2-for-3 with an RBI.
